Think you might want to get your small group or maybe your entire church on board? Host your own Wake up and Pray event.
For teenagers, have a lock-in and upon waking, have them pray in groups for our country and its leaders. (That is if they actually ever go to sleep:))
For Adults, just simply have a table or kiosk at your church, or already scheduled church or community event, with tent cards asking each member/visitor to commit to praying each morning for just a few moments. For example, our very first outing was simply a table with a banner at a local yearly flea market. Another idea might be to incorporate this into a 4th of July Celebration that is already planned.
Really, you can create your event however you see fit. Make a day, a night or just a moment out of it. Stand at the door of your local "Super" store and hand out cards until they make you leave, or simply keep cards with you to give to friends and family who might be willing to help spread the word that our country is in need of prayer.
We hope to post pdf files of all of the artwork so that you may print your own cards, t-shirts, banners and other promo fun stuff. The artwork is not "Owned" or trademarked by anyone. America, Wake up and Pray is a movement among Christians living in America to take a few moments each morning and pray for our government officials and the decisions they make. Wherever it is that you have a few quiet moments, still in bed, brushing your teeth, driving to work, petition God to heal our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
America, Wake up and Pray is also to encourage Christians to get involved in the political realm and be a part of that decision making process on all levels, from voters to candidates.
While we know that God's plan is ultimate and unchanging, we feel that there is no time like the present to live out loud the Christian life. Take a stand against secular norms that are not "OK" in the eyes of our Heavenly Father, such as abortion, same sex marriages, and many others. We want everyone to have a voice and this is how we choose to make it heard.
We hope to post links that will allow you to contact your representatives personally to voice your steadfast Christian views. We feel that if we don't do this, the Christian voice will be unheard and our country will only see more economic downfall and moral decay.
